Tablets won’t dissolve in the dishwasher – what do I do?

A dishwasher really makes its owner’s life easier by saving lots of time, which would be otherwise spent on washing dishes even in a small family.
Therefore, dishwasher’s breakdown is always inept! One of the most frequent issues – the tablet for a dishwasher won’t dissolve.

Types of tablets for dishwashers

● Single-and double-layer;

● Combined tablets are the most practical of all. They contain all the necessary components for thorough cleansing of utensils:

● Detergents;

● Rinsing conditioner;

● Regenerating salt.

5 Reasons why the tablet does not dissolve

1. Some cheap dishwasher models do not support the usage of a certain types of detergents, which may be a reason of this particular problem.

Read your dishwasher’s user manual and find out, which detergents the manufacturer recommends to use for this particular model.

2. You bought substandard tablets or false tablets of the famous brand.

Try the products of another brand: if the problem does not repeat – the reason is obvious.

3. Using the tablet with a gentle washing program.

In this case, the detergent just does not have enough time to dissolve completely in the course of the program operation.

4. Dosing compartment lid blocked.

Check out how easy the automatic valve of the dosing compartment opens. If it is hard to open, the detergent cannot come out of it, and thus it cannot dissolve. It often happens that there is too much dishes in the dishwasher and it blocks the dispenser. After the washing cycle finishes, the compartment opens and the dishwasher spits the tablet untouched. To avoid such troubles, check if the dishes do not prevent the dispenser compartment lid from opening each time you are about to run the dishwasher.

5. Dosing compartment is wet.

In this case, the tablet (as well as the powder) absorbs moisture, sticks to the bottom of the compartment and can no longer dissolve, or it dissolves too slowly and incompletely. In this case, the dishwasher may not even spit the tablet, it just stays in the dosing compartment undissolved.

If you ensured that none of the above issues apply to your dishwasher, but the tablet still won’t dissolve at all or partially, Call the dishwasher repair expert. Perhaps, the reason is insufficient inflow of water into the dishwasher, which is a result of the breakdown of recirculation pump or inlet valve or blockage of sprinklers. In such cases, it this best to stop trying to repair your kitchen assistant on your own and trust the professionals.
