Viking was founded in 1987 by Fred Carl, Jr., in Greenwood, Mississippi. It manufactures kitchen appliances for household and commercial use. It was the first time that professional equipment was designed for home use. In addition to a series of “Professional” and “Designer” equipment, a “Commercial” product line was created, which is intended for use in restaurants and other professional kitchens.
The company history started in 1980s. The company’s founder, Fred Carl, Jr., once noted significant shortcomings in the design and installation of appliances for his kitchen. In 1989, he started designing his own product line, and in April 1990, the first 48-diagonal gas stove was released, and in July, the company took full responsibility for the manufacture of its own equipment.
