Miele&Ciewas was founded in the summer of 1898 in the German village of Herzebroch. Carl Miele and ReinhardCinkann started manufacturing milk skimming machines within a year after opening of the company. It was decided to name the brand after the last name of one of the founders, which only emphasized the “family nature” of this business, as well as traditions passed from generation to generation.
Although initially the company only manufactured milk-skimming machines, soon the product line expended significantly.
